- Frequently asked questions about concrete cutting costs
How much does concrete cutting cost? Concrete cutting serves a range of purposes. Examples include cutting a staircase opening in an upper concrete floor, concealing waste pipes or creating a crawl-space access hatch in a concrete floor. Concrete cutting requires the right expertise and tools, so it is a job best left to a specialist company. A concrete cutting company always ensures that the work is carried out as neatly and safely as possible.
This page provides information about average concrete sawing costs.

Average concrete cutting costs
Most companies charge a minimum fee. This is the minimum amount billed for a job, usually between € 50 and € 200. Some jobs are covered by this fee, so it is all you pay. However, the minimum fee also applies to a small cutting job. Larger jobs incur additional charges.

Below, we list the factors that determine the price of concrete cutting.

Factors that determine concrete cutting costs
As the information above shows, the final price depends on the starting charge and the size, depth and strength of the concrete. For an exact price, request a quotation from a specialist concrete cutting company.
Below, we list the factors that determine the price of concrete cutting.
Type of concrete
Every type of concrete can be worked, but some types are stronger than others. The stronger the concrete, the more expensive the job. Cutting hard concrete takes longer, and that time is charged to the customer. The table above also shows that cutting walls is more expensive than cutting ceilings.
Concrete depth
As the table above clearly shows, cutting concrete masonry to a depth of up to 20 cm is considerably cheaper than cutting to a depth of up to 50 cm. The deeper the cut, the more expensive the job. Deeper cutting takes more effort and requires different equipment to carry out the work safely and responsibly. Keeping the surrounding area clean also requires more attention.
Cutting area
The larger the area to be cut, the more expensive the job. This does not apply to small jobs, where only the minimum charge applies. Larger jobs are naturally more expensive. Besides taking more time, they require greater effort to leave the surroundings clean.
Power supply
Concrete cutting involves a lot of equipment. Naturally, this equipment needs power to work properly. In some cases, no power supply is available. The company will then bring its own power source, for which an additional charge applies. On average, providing power costs between € 35,- and € 100,- per day.
Urgent jobs
In some cases, concrete cutting may take place outside normal working hours, such as at weekends or in the evening. Most companies then charge a surcharge of 50% or 100% on top of the normal price. A 50% surcharge generally applies on Saturdays and in the evening, and a 100% surcharge on Sundays and public holidays.
Unusual working conditions
Additional hours are charged for non-standard working conditions. This applies in the following cases:
- If the standard equipment is not sufficient.
- If an exceptionally large amount of reinforcing steel, or particularly thick reinforcement, has to be cut.
- If an access platform, suspended cradle or scaffolding needs to be hired.
- If cutting is required in crawl spaces or other confined areas.
- When cutting is required in exceptionally difficult-to-access locations, such as boiler rooms, sites with strict safety requirements, between pipes or above suspended ceilings.
- If circumstances prevent tools and/or people from being moved, such as the absence of a lift or a slope too steep for wheelbarrows to be used.

Tips for a limited budget
You need concrete cutting work but also want to keep costs as low as possible. The tips below help you save as much as possible on concrete cutting.
Allow enough time
Arrange a tradesperson in good time. Emergency work is much more expensive than a scheduled job, often costing 50% more. On Sundays and public holidays, the price can even double. Do not leave jobs too long and let them become emergencies.
Avoid additional call-out charges
A mileage allowance is included as standard when calculating the price. The distance within which no additional charges apply is usually set in advance. This is generally 50 km from the company's premises to your home. If you choose a company based further away, you can expect higher call-out charges. Always choose a reliable company close to home.
What customers say about Sloop Concurrent
Sloop Concurrent would be nowhere without its customers. This is what our customers have to say about us.
Sloop Concurrent: certifications and insurance
When you ask Sloop Concurrent to carry out your demolition work, you can look forward to a pleasant working relationship. Sloop Concurrent is well insured. We hold CAR insurance, or Construction All Risks insurance, covering material damage arising during the construction or installation of buildings, roads, bridges and systems. We have never had to make a claim on this insurance, but we prefer to be on the safe side.
Sloop Concurrent is also an accredited training company, training the skilled tradespeople of the future. All our demolition workers are trained in-house, and we do not subcontract our work. This is reflected both in the total cost and in the final result.
Asbestos must always be considered when demolishing structures. We therefore hold dNAA certification, which allows us to remove asbestos. We do so safely and responsibly.
