Chasing in pipes
Chases for pipes can be cut into walls, ceilings or floors. Various cables and pipes can be concealed in wall chases, including the following:
- Water and gas pipes in the hallway, kitchen and/or bathroom;
- Electrical cables for spotlights in your living room, kitchen or bedroom;
- Cables for TV and internet connections, giving your living room a tidier appearance;
- Central heating and/or underfloor heating pipes in your home;
- Other pipes – by agreement and following inspection.
It is important to conceal only pipes and cables that do not need frequent access. Once the channel containing the pipes and cables has been filled, it is not easy to reopen. Consider carefully which pipes and cables are suitable for concealment in channels.

Work involved in cutting channels for pipes
Chasing channels for pipes into walls, ceilings or floors is specialist work requiring knowledge and experience. Sloop Concurrent's qualified specialists follow a clear process when cutting channels to conceal pipes and/or cables. They work through the following steps:
- Assessment and measuring: Our expert carefully checks whether the location is suitable for chasing in cables and/or pipes and measures the correct channel dimensions. These are marked on the wall, ceiling or floor.
- Channel cutting: Cutting a channel is careful work requiring precision. We use a spirit level and a wall chaser with sharp cutting discs. We follow the marked lines exactly and work extremely efficiently to prevent collateral damage.
- Concealing cables and pipes: Once the chases have been cut, the pipes and/or cables can be placed inside and carefully secured with nails or clips. Other suitable fixings can also be used.
- Finishing: A channel is finished by closing it with filler or having the wall, ceiling or floor plastered. The chosen finish can then be covered with paint, wallpaper or another wall covering. The cables and pipes are thereby completely concealed.
